Booking & Reservations
You can book online through our reservation system, by phone at +1 902 978 2200, or by email at support@pleasantdriverentals.com. Online booking is the fastest — it takes about 2 minutes.
We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for summer rentals (June–September) and major PEI events. Same-week bookings are sometimes available but selection is limited.
Yes. Contact us by phone or email to adjust dates, change vehicles, or cancel. We recommend reaching out at least 48 hours before pickup whenever possible.

Yes — you'll receive an instant confirmation email with your reservation details, pickup location, and contact info. If you don't see it within 10 minutes, check your spam folder.
Pickup & Drop-Off
We have two locations:
- Charlottetown: 15 Prince Charles Drive, C1A 3B7
- Summerside: Newlife Building, 201 Water Street, C1N 1B4
Choose whichever fits your trip when you book.
Our offices are open Monday–Friday, 10am–5pm. Closed Saturday and Sunday. After-hours pickups and drop-offs can sometimes be arranged with advance notice — please call to coordinate.
Contact us directly to coordinate. Our Charlottetown location is a short drive from YYG and we can help arrange the easiest way to get to us.
After-hours returns may be possible with prior arrangement. Please coordinate with us before your rental ends so we can give you secure return instructions.
Insurance & Coverage
Basic third-party liability insurance is included with every rental as required by law. We offer additional protection packages to cover damage, theft, and roadside assistance. Ask us for details when booking.
Yes — many credit cards (especially gold, platinum, or premium tier) include car rental insurance as a benefit. Check with your card issuer before declining our coverage to make sure it applies in Canada and covers the vehicle class you're renting.
In many cases yes, your personal auto insurance may extend to rental vehicles. Contact your insurer to confirm coverage before your rental date.
Stop, ensure everyone is safe, and call 911 if anyone is injured. Then contact us right away at +1 902 978 2200 and notify the police. We'll guide you through the next steps.
Payment & Pricing
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). A credit card in the renter's name is required at pickup, even if the booking was paid in full online.
No. The price you see when you book is the price you pay. We don't charge airport concession fees, fuel surcharges, or other "mystery" add-ons. Optional extras (like additional coverage) are clearly itemized before you book.
A pre-authorization hold is placed on your credit card at pickup to cover any potential damages or extras. It's released after the vehicle is returned in good condition. We'll tell you the exact amount before pickup.
Yes — weekly and monthly rentals come with discounted rates. Contact us for a custom quote on rentals over 7 days.
Driver Requirements
Renters must typically be 21 years of age or older. A young driver surcharge may apply for renters under 25. Contact us for specifics.
You'll need:
- A valid driver's licence (Canadian, US, or international with English translation)
- A credit card in the renter's name
- Proof of insurance or our optional protection coverage
Yes — additional drivers can be added for a small daily fee. They must be present at pickup with valid ID and licence.
Yes, as long as the licence is valid and either in English or accompanied by an International Driving Permit (IDP).
Driving in PEI
Most rentals are intended for use within PEI. If you'd like to drive to New Brunswick or Nova Scotia, please let us know in advance so we can make sure you're properly covered.
Yes — we equip our vehicles with appropriate seasonal tires when winter conditions apply. Our AWD RAV4 SUVs are excellent for winter driving in PEI.
You're responsible for any tickets, fines, or tolls incurred during your rental. If a ticket is issued after you return the car, we'll forward it to you along with any administrative fees.
